A
regular grant from the Philosophical Quarterly, enables the Club to
offer financial support to philosophy conferences and workshops organised
in Scotland.
Applications
should be made to the Secretary
and should conform to the following conditions:
-
A
budget should be submitted showing some other income,
and some contribution from participants.
-
Normally,
the SPC contribution will take the form of a guarantee
against loss, though an outright grant may be made if
some good reason is given for an outright grant.
-
Normally,
grants/guarantees will only be made to philosophy meetings/conferences
being held in Scotland.
-
Normally,
events to be supported by the SPC will be open to all
SPC members, though we are prepared to allow for some
specialist 'invitation only' workshops.
-
Exceptions
can be made where the conference is high quality and intellectually
innovative, but for one reason or another is not likely
to be able to access alternative sources of income.
-
Decisions
about what exceptions to make are made at the discretion
of the Scots Philosophical Club Committee.

Grants
are made each year to the Scottish
